'Recycled Park' is a project that consists of two elements: a passive waste trap placed in rivers to recover floating plastics, together with a floating park made from collected and recycled plastic that allows plants and wildlife to become re-established.
Founded in the Netherlands, the Recycled Island Foundation created 'Recycled Park' to combat marine pollution and the scourge of plastic waste in the oceans. Rotterdam was the place where the company made its first three waste traps to prevents plastics from entering the North Sea. On July 4, 2018 the company inaugurated 140 sq m of floating parks with the backing of the municipality and the government. These floating parks aim to have an environmentally-friendly effect on the river water.
